“Why should we go back to business as usual?” A better question is "why would we want to go back to business as usual?” Let’s put
this in a different context – let’s look at business as usual in the Stone Age. A cave man has just discovered how to use fire
and he was so excited he went back and introduced it to his tribe. He went to the elder and showed the benefits of tamed fire – you
could cook food, light the darkness, and keep warn and you have a new weapon. Suddenly fire maker man has become one of the most important
men in the tribe. The tribe Elder can see the power structure will shift – the hierarchy is changing. To maintain ‘control’ the
insecure tribal elder will probably point out negative aspects of the fire and use propaganda to maintain his position. He may say
we can’t do this fire thing, as it will upset the Gods or get out of control.
But really the Elder and his tribe only have two options.
The first is to go back to ‘Business as Usual’ – no fire,
none of the progression associated with it and the status quo.
Or two, embrace the change, improve the quality of life
significantly and thrive. The stifling first option would mean the
quality of life within the tribe would diminish and their
competitiveness within the wider world would be compromised.
But think of another tribe with a different
Elder. A good delegator who is confident and serves his tribe – he is open to new knowledge. Fire is embraced and harnessed and the
tribe thrive. Today in my view humanity is at that junction. We are being presented with modern day equivalent of fire but we
are lumbered with a global society driven by competing interests maintaining the status quo. Are our tribal elders exploiting value-creators,
and stunting the growth and development of their people in an attempt to remain relevant?

3. To maintain ‘control’ the insecure
person will point out negative aspects and use half true's to maintain position and mind control. It's more easier and cheaper to
spread lies, than to offer benefits.
